Directions for Use
Surface Preparation: For best adhesion, oils, dust, and all other surface contaminants must be completely removed.
Dispensing:
3M Wind Protection Tape Edge Sealer W2600 is packaged in DuoPak cartridges and can be dispensed with the 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EPX™ Applicator. Follow the applicator instructions for assembly, cartridge loading and dispensing the sealer using the 1:1 mix ratio Applicator Plunger. Load the cartridge in the applicator and remove the cap. To ensure adequate mixing, “equalize” the cartridge by expressing adhesive until both both Part A & B are visible. Attach the nozzle and apply the sealant. Properly applied sealant should be transparent with minimal air entrapment. The sealant will begin to set inside the nozzle if it is not dispensed within the working time of the sealant. If the sealant does not flow after a long idle time, remove and replace the mixing nozzle.
Estimated length of 30 meters/50 ml cartridge with proper application technique and minimal waste. Notice: Hand mixing is not recommended.
Clean-up: Uncured Sealant– Excess uncured sealant can be removed by wiping with solvent and should be allowed to cure before disposal. Unmixed
sealant should be handled and stored per the SDS recommendation.
Cured Sealant– Does not require special waste handling procedures.
Storage: Store products at 60-80°F (16-27°C) for maximum storage life. Rotate stock on a “first-in first-out” basis. Partially used cartridges can be stored with the nozzle in place. Cured sealant in the nozzle will protect the remaining sealant in the cartridge
Shelf Life: These products have a shelf life of 24 months from date of manufacture when stored in the original, unopened container at the suggested storage conditions.
